Ranveer Singh was undoubtedly the star of Zee Cine Awards 2019. The actor set the stage on fire with his performance on Apna Time Aayega at the awards night before he took to the stage again to accept his award for Best Actor in the Leading Role for Padmaavat. Ranveer’s Khilji act still runs shivers down our spine and he so deserved to win the trophy. The actor first kissed his wife and Padmaavat co-star Deepika and hugged Ranbir Kapoor before taking to the stage. But it was his acceptance speech that bowled everyone over and left Deepika in tears.

Ranveer began his speech thanking Padmaavat director Sanjay Leela Bhansali before he turned towards his wife and thanked her. His beautiful words left Deepika emotional. He said, “Apni Leela, Apni Mastani, Apni Rani se shaadi kar li, main to sach mein hero ban gaya yaar.” If this doesn’t make your heart melt, we don’t know what does.

He also told SLB, “You shaped me as an artist and an actor, if I am an actor of any kind of caliber it’s because of you. You gave me my life’s most great opportunities.”
