Dennis Shields included Bethenny Frankel’s daughter in his private proposal to the “Real Housewives of New York” star before his untimely death from a suspected drug overdose last year.

After saying her relationship “was not even close to a perfect” one, Frankel told Dorinda Medley in a clip from next week’s episode of “RHONY” that part of her “died inside” after his passing, and: “I loved him so much and we were family and my daughter was close with him and I knew him for so many years. And he proposed on April 25 and I said…”

“I didn’t know that,” Medley cut her off.

“Yeah,” Frankel responded as she showed off a ring. “… I didn’t tell anybody that.”

“Aw, that’s sad,” Medley said.

“It’s very sad,” Frankel repeated through tears. “… I kept it to myself because I didn’t want another circus of my life … We had our own private engagement and our own private, like, ‘Oh my God, we’re gonna do this.’”

“Did Bryn know?” Medley asked.

“He bought Bryn a ring, too,” Frankel revealed.

Frankel, 48, and Shields, 51, were involved in an on-again-off-again relationship until he was found dead in his Trump Tower apartment in August. It came out shortly after his death that Shields had proposed to Frankel in April.

The Skinnygirl mogul has since moved on with Paul Bernon.

Frankel is in the middle of a custody battle over 8-year-old Bryn with her ex-husband Jason Hoppy.
