Florida prosecutors have dropped felony battery charges against Chris Brown related to an alleged attack at a nightclub in Tampa in 2017.

According to TMZ, the prosecutors elected not to pursue criminal charges against the hip-hop and R&B artist due to a lack of evidence to prosecute him.

“After a thorough review of the facts and information from the alleged victim, our office determined there was insufficient evidence to prosecute,” the Florida State’s Attorney’s Office told TMZ.

In 2017, the singer was accused of punching a photographer at a nightclub in Tampa. According to reports, Brown allegedly attacked the man and left him with a split lip after he continued to take pictures despite being warned by Brown and his team.

Brown was arrested last year on the pending charges after a concert in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Brown has faced multiple charges in recent years, including a rape allegation by a French woman in January. He filed a defamation lawsuit against his accuser.
