The gen-next star of Bollywood, Sidharth Malhotra has recently wrapped up the shooting of Marjaavaan and has now started the prep for her role of the titular character in the upcoming biopic based on Army office Vikram Batra. The film will go on the floors by the end of this month and the actor is currently going through a training session to get into the skin of the character. As per the Mumbai Mirror report, a source close to the development said, “Sidharth will sport different looks for different timelines of Vikram’s life. He has already spent some time with the captain’s family to know him better and is attending workshops to learn the use of military weapons.”
The report also says that the biopic might be titled as Kargil’s Sher Shah by the makers. “The film will be shot in approximately 70 days across Chandigarh, Palampur, Kashmir and Ladakh, beginning with DAV college, where Vikram studied. However, it won’t be a marathon schedule, as Sidharth has to take a break in-between for the promotions of his next film, Jabariya Jodi.”
Captain Vikram Batra was 24 when he martyred during the Kargil was awarded Param Vir Chakra for his bravery from the government of India. Talking about playing this heroic character, Sidharth told Mumbai Mirror, “I am excited to play this real-life heroic story of sacrifice and valour as this is something I have not done before. I am looking forward to shoot at all the real-life locations.”
Meanwhile, the actor will be next seen in Jabariya Jodi opposite her Hasee Toh Phasee co-star Parineeti Chopra. The film is directed by Prashant Singh and also stars Aparshakti Khurana in a key role. It was initially titled as Shotgun Shaadi. The core plot of the film is set in Patna, Bihar and is co-presented by Balaji Telefilms and Karma Media Entertainment.
