Alisson and Naby Keita are all set to make their Liverpool debuts this Sunday against West Ham at Anfield.

But fans are a little disappointed to see Fabinho missing from the starting XI, with the Brazilian – who has been ill this week – making the bench. New signing Xherdan Shaqiri is also named on the bench.

Jurgen Klopp splashed out on four new players this summer to strengthen his Reds side, spending over £150million to close the gap on Manchester City.

Alisson made his debut for Liverpool in Dublin, in the Reds’ pre-season friendly victory over Napoli, but fans in the UK will be excited to see him in action in a competitive fixture for the Reds since his summer switch.

Speaking to Welt am Sonntag ahead of this Sunday’s fixture, Klopp opened up on his summer spending.

"I still do not like it [spending big]," he said. "But I cannot say now ‘we will not go there’ because my job is to make Liverpool as strong as possible.

"Regarding our net spend in the past transfer windows, we are still far behind any of our rivals. The quality of the players is now there, but the quality of a team depends on whether the players can reach their potential."

Liverpool fans are delighted with the big-spending and expectation that comes with it, but it seems many were hoping to see Fabinho from the start.
