Meghan McCain attacked “Aunt Becky’s husband” for dissing Arizona State University in the sweeping college bribery scam.
The daughter of late Arizona Sen. John McCain took to Twitter to defend her family’s think tank, the McCain Institute for International Leadership, which has a partnership with ASU.
“To Aunt Becky’s husband who talked s–t about ASU – The @McCainInstitute for International Leadership does incredible work w/ students in cooperation with ASU and I guarantee those students involved will go on to do great things in the world and didn’t have to lie to get there…” Meghan, 34, wrote on Tuesday, hours after the stunning charges were made public.
She was referring to Mossimo Giannulli, whose wife Lori Loughlin recently reprised her role as Aunt Becky on the reboot “Fuller House.” The couple is charged with paying $500,000 in bribes to get their two daughters, Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose, into the University of Southern California under the false pretense that they were competitive rowers.
In court papers unsealed Tuesday, Giannulli made his daughters’ college aspirations clear to William “Rick” Singer, the college prep expert at the center of the alleged scam.
“I’d like to maybe sit with you after your session with the girls as I have some concerns and want to fully understand the game plan and make sure we have a roadmap for success as it relates to [our daughter] and getting her into a school other than ASU!” Giannulli allegedly wrote Singer in 2016.
