It might seem like the tiniest thing to swap your hairstyle, but when you’re Meghan Markle , you can’t trim your split ends without the Internet questioning the reason behind it.
So, when Meghan showed off a new look at the Coach Core Awards at Loughborough University and at the Oceania art exhibition this week, people naturally started speculating why she’s suddenly decided to ditch her signature messy bun and undone waves.
What is this drastic hairstyle change, you ask? She’s been wearing her dark tresses poker straight.
It seems a little far-fetched to link that to a possible pregnancy – after all, maybe her GHDs just broke that morning and she didn’t have the time to construct her usual curls, but there is a reason why some fans are wondering if it means a royal baby is on the horizon.
Last year, royal expert Kate Proctor tweeted something that made fans go ‘oooh’.
"Pattern is Duchess of Cambridge changes her hairstyle, people concentrate on her head, then announces pregnancy. My gfs called this wks ago!" she said.
This supposed distraction technique from her changing pregnancy figure is why people are wondering if Meghan has taken a leaf out of Kate’s book and updated her hairstyle all of a sudden.
While it’s always just been speculation that Kate’s hair magically changed a week or two before announcing all three of her pregnancies, it’s hard to ignore the fact that it did become a bit of a pattern…
Before Prince George was born, Kate swapped her usual bouncy blow-dried curls for a fancy new fringe.
Then, just before announcing she was pregnant with baby Charlotte, the Duchess of Cambridge apparently started experimenting more with hats and half up-dos.
Most recently, before the couple informed the world of baby number three, Kate chopped her signature long auburn locks into a lob – or, what would become, the infamous ‘midi’.
So, does this mean that Meghan’s shiny new ‘do is following the same pattern? Who knows – at the moment it’s all just speculation. But, what we do know is that her and Prince Harry would create one adorable little human.
