John Abraham and Manoj Bajpayee starrer Satyameva Jayate continues its strong run at the box office. The masala action entertainer earned Rs 9.03 crore yesterday and now stands with the grand total of Rs 46.65 crore. Satyameva Jayate is expected to earn around Rs 58 crore in its extended opening weekend at the ticket windows. Despite facing stiff competition from Akshay Kumar’s Gold, John’s film has managed to get good footfalls at the box office.

Talking about, what made him sign Satyameva Jayate, John earlier said, “I heard the narration and I loved it. It is a hardcore commercial film with a lot of dialogues and a face-off moment. It is an action-packed film that also addresses social issues. Violence against women is one of the issues in today’s society. When a woman is walking on the street and men are giving her dirty looks and making her feel uncomfortable, my character punches them off because that is what those sick minded men deserve. This is how my character becomes aspirational for the audience. There are many such instances in the film that hopefully would connect with the audience.” (Also Read: Satyameva Jayate box office collection day 3: John Abraham’s film witnesses a jump, earns Rs 37.62 crore)

The film is also the highest opener for an ‘A’ rated action film. This surely calls for a celebration. But, the actor who is currently shooting in Gulmarg for his next has decided against celebrating owing to the unforeseen floods in Kerala. John says, ” I am overwhelmed by all the adulation from the paisa paying public as well as the industry at large. Everyone is asking me when are we celebrating but, for me it’s business as usual as I’m shooting in Gulmarg for my next film. In any case I am devastated by the unprecedented situation in Kerala. I have family there and although they are safe so many others are still suffering.”
