Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao announced Rs. 25 crore as immediate financial assistance to flood-hit Kerala. He instructed Chief Secretary S.K. Joshi to ensure that the amount reached Kerala immediately. He expressed sorrow over the loss of lives and property caused by floods and heavy rain.

Mr. Rao also instructed the officials concerned to despatch Reverse Osmosis machines worth Rs. 2.5 crore in view of contamination of drinking water in flood-affected areas of the State.

Noting that it was the responsibility of people in Telangana to go to the rescue of Keralites, he called upon industrialists and others to come forward and help the State. The donations could be given to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund which would be sent to Kerala.
