Dancing On Ice star Brian McFadden dropped his partner during tonight’s performance.

Viewers were left feeling worried for Alex Murphy’s safety after she slipped out of his hands.

The former Westlife star bravely attempted a complex lift but it went very wrong.

After the routine ended, relieved Brian tightly hugged his professional skating partner before getting his score of 24.5.

Sympathetic Phillip Schofield said: "It was going so well."

Brian said: "To be honest with you I have to thank our physio here Sharon. I wasn’t walking Monday, Tuesday Wednesday.

"And Alex, she’s been unbelievable."

Cheeky Phil added: "And then you dropped her."

Jayne Torvill admitted she was going to give a 7 but took marks off for the failed lift.

Christopher Dean said: "You should be upset with yourself but proud of yourself at the same time. You came back tonight. That was stronger than I saw in rehearsals. Maybe too many lifts considering your bad back."

Jason Gardiner claimed he was improving, while Ashley Banjo admitted he was "gutted" for Brian.

Dancing On Ice viewers revealed their fears for Alex’s safety.

One viewer said: "As much as I love @BrianMcFadden I fear for Alex’s life soo much with the lifts"

Another added: "I hope Alex is getting danger money for skating with Brian.. he drops her every bloody week the poor cow"

A third said: "Brian is like… I don’t need no dance partner"
