There hasn’t been much love lost between Gary Windass and David Platt in the past and it looks like cash-strapped Gary is eyeing up an opportunity to squeeze his old foe for a bit of extra money.

The aftermath of the Peter Barlow’s boat fire sees Gary being given a chance to repair the damage to number eight, Coronation Street .

Mates rates are not a consideration though as he sees the chance to fleece David.

Unfortunately, there is the small matter of David’s sister Sarah, who happens to be dating Gary and she is not best pleased when she rumbles his ruse.

Her relationship with Gary has been rocky at the best of times but this could be the straw that breaks the couple completely as she is disgusted at Gary’s subterfuge.

The question is, will Sarah confront Gary or stand back and let him take the dough for her flesh and blood, in the hope it gives them a better financial standing?

Elsewhere, there could be a very bizarre romp on the cobbles coming to shock viewers.

Tyrone Dobbs has been obsessed with the idea that Mary Taylor, who is working as a nanny for him while Fiz is away, is secretly in love with him.

It’s made even worse when he finds a Valentine’s Day card in the house, and puts it down to Mary as being a little too into him.

And even Kevin Webster thinks Mary fancies him, as she has inserted herself into his life in a big way.

So it comes as no surprise when next week, Tyrone is forced to bring up the issue with his new Mary Poppins.

Will it be a foot in mouth moment or will Tyrone get more than he bargains for?

He had better be prepared for the answer as it could by a gamechanger.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
