As expected, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Bharat showed a good jump yesterday at the box office. The period drama raked in Rs 26.70 crore yesterday and now stands with the grand total of Rs 122.20 crore. Looking at the current trend, we are expecting the film to enter the Rs 150 crore club today, but it’ll be interesting whether it will happen or not as we also have an interesting cricket match between India and Australia today, which might affect its business at the box office.
Bharat has become the 14th consecutive Rs 100 crore film of Salman Khan after Race 3, Dabangg, Tiger Zinda Hai, Dabangg 2, Kick, Ek Tha Tiger, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Jai Ho, Bodyguard, Tubelight, Sultan, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Ready.
After Salman Khan’s Bharat, Sophie Turner’s X-Men: Dark Phoenix gets leaked online by Tamil Rockers
Bharat, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, is an official remake of the Korean film “An Ode To My Father”. The Bollywood film depicts the history of India through the life of an ordinary man. After receiving positive responses from the audience, Zafar said in a statement: “It is humbling to be showered this kind of love by audiences. I have tried to present Salman Khan in a totally new light and as a totally new hero with Bharat. “I’m ecstatic that audiences have liked our attempt to make ‘Bharat’ a thoroughly entertaining joyride that also has its soul in the right place.”
