Britney Spears has blasted those who are closest to her but "ignored" her during her 13 year-long conservatorship.

The Toxic hit singer, 39, shared a cryptic message on her Instagram page, which some fans think could be aimed at her sister Jamie Lynn Spears.

Britney shared a quote with her 31.5million followers on Saturday 17 July which read: "Never forget who ignored you when you needed them and who helped you before you even had to ask."

Singer Britney, who reportedly called 911 to report conservatorship abuse before her court hearing, elaborated in her caption.

Pop star Britney wrote: "There’s nothing worse than when the people closest to you who never showed up for you post things in regard to your situation whatever it may be and speak righteously for support … there’s nothing worse than that !!!!

"How dare the people you love the most say anything at all … did they even put a hand out to even lift me up at the TIME !!!???

"How dare you make it public that NOW you CARE … did you put your hand out when I was drowning ???? Again … NO …"

Britney then shared a direct message to the person in question, but kept their identity unknown.

She said: "so if you’re reading this and you know who you are … and you actually have the nerve to say anything about my situation just to save face for yourself publicly !!!

"If you’re gonna post something …. Please stop with the righteous approach when you’re so far from righteous it’s not even funny …." followed by a trio of middle finger emojis before adding: "and have a good day !!!!!"

She then told her followers who may relate to her situation: "PS if you’re reading this today and you can relate …. I’m sorry because I know what it’s like … and I send you my love" before ending her caption with three kiss emojis.

Fans in the comments section immediately assumed the message was aimed at Britney's younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears, 30 – who remained silent on the conservatorship until last month.

Jamie posted a cryptic message on her own Instagram account earlier this week, after Britney won the right to hire her own attorney.

She shared a post on her Instagram story which read: "Dear Lord, Can we end this bull s*** once and for all. Amen."

Last month, Britney's sibling broke her silence on the singer's conservatorship.

She said: "The only reason I haven't [spoken] before, is because I felt that until my sister was able to speak for herself, and say what she felt she needed to say publicly, that it wasn't my place. And it wasn't the right thing to do."
