Charlene White, 41, has been an anchor and regular face on Loose Women since 2021. The presenter has taken to Twitter today to bid farewell to her Loose Women colleague who is leaving to join the newly launched TalkTV.
I’m really really gonna miss ya.
Executive Creative Director Erron Gordon at NewsUK took to Twitter to welcome a new colleague to the TalkTV team.
He penned: “Thrilled that @olliedgardener is joining my team @NewsUK #TalkTV as we prepare to launch.”
Ollie was formerly the director at Loose Women, and will now be leaving ITV to join TalkTV as the Deputy Head of Studio Output.
Charlene, seeing the news, hastily took to Twitter to bid farewell to her co-worker.
In view of her 54,600 followers, she said: “ERRON! I can’t believe you’ve taken @olliedgardener from meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee (well all of us at @loosewomen). (sic)
“I mean, I’m obvs happy for you Ollie… but I’m really really gonna miss ya.” (sic)
Ollie replied: “Ahh @CharleneWhite!
“Appreciate that – you know I’ll miss you all too.”
On yesterday’s Loose Women, Charlene was forced to step in a heated row over drinking between fellow presenters Denise Welch and Carol McGiffin.
The women were discussing the pros and cons of Dry January, after fellow panellist Katie Piper said she had decided to embark on the month-long sobriety after New Year’s Day.
When Katie was discussing whether to keep it up for dry February, Denise opened up about the events that led her to stop drinking ten years ago.
However, the discussion quickly became heated after Carol weighed in with her own reluctance to stop drinking.
Carol said: “I quite like being drunk and I like having a hangover. It gives me a chance to do nothing.”
She turned to Denise and said: “Don’t you start, the booze police over here.”
Denise then said she wished Carol would “not drink as much” because she’s had cancer, after the star was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014.
Carol cried in response: “You’ve got to take chances in life!” to which Denise said: “I know you have – we all know that.”
Charlene was then forced to intervene, repeating “ladies” hoping to calm the presenters down.
She said: “Take a breath, ladies. We could honestly talk about this for the entire show.”
Charlene turned to the camera in the studio to say: “I’m sure you guys want a little bit more than these two arguing continuously. So I’m going to move on ladies if that’s alright.”
Since 2019, Charlene has also been the lead presenter on ITV’s News London main 6pm programme.
