‘It will be a tough watch’: Channel 4 set to launch ‘new reality TV show that will see celebrities JAILED’

Channel 4 is set to launch a new reality TV show that will see celebrities jailed, according to a new report on Thursday.

The series, which will be ‘a tough watch’, will see a selection of stars put behind bars to experience the challenge of being locked up.

Although the line-up has yet to be confirmed, the new show is allegedly set to begin filming later this year with the pilot episode having already been made.

The TV experiment aims to make to experience as authentic as possible with a former prison location secured and men starring in the series first.

A source explained to The Sun: ‘The idea behind the show is it gives people who might have zero experience of prison life, or the criminal justice system in general, a taste of just what it is like.’

They added: ‘That could include celebs from a walk of life where they’ve looked at incarceration from a different angle, whether they are ex-police officers, politicians, or actors who have played crooks but never actually been banged up.

‘They’re expecting it to be a tough watch and a tough endurance test for those taking part, but the fact it is so challenging is part of its appeal.’

MailOnline has contacted representatives for Channel 4 for comment.

Elsewhere, Channel 4 is also planning the launch of a brand new dating show which asks strangers to have online sex using Bluetooth-synced toys on a first date, it’s been revealed.

The new show, which has a working title of Sex First, relies on the theory that matches must have sexual chemistry first and foremost.

Single people will be introduced to each other online as avatars before testing their chemistry by having sex online.

If the pairs enjoy their first sexual encounter they can then meet in person to see if the bond is just as compatible in real life.

The pair can then decide whether to take the relationship further and start dating.

A TV insider told The Sun it would be the ‘most outrageous’ dating show from the network yet.

They revealed: ‘If it’s green lit, it is bound to cause controversy but the series could also attract some big ratings.’

The broadcaster also airs dating shows such as Married at First Sight and the controversial show Naked Attraction on its sister channel E4.

Naked Attraction sees singletons decide whether or not they want to date one another based on their naked bodies.
