Charlotte Cornwell has died at the age of 71, following a battle with cancer. The TV and film actress was best known for her role in the BAFTA-winning 70s TV series, Rock Follies.

The tragic news of her death comes just weeks after the star’s half-brother and spy author John le Carre died aged 89, after falling ill with pneumonia.

Charlotte starred as Anna Wynd alongside Rula Lenska as Q and Julie Covington as Dee, in a band called Little Ladies in the Rock Follies.

The 70s show was based on the rise of a fictional girl group and their attempts to find fame.

Tributes have since poured in for the late actress, as many people offered their condolences.
