Danielle Staub‘s marriage to Marty Caffrey is getting messy.
On Tuesday, the “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star’s husband of a little over two months released a lengthy statement to Radar Online claiming that he has been suffering “financial, verbal and emotional abuse” since tying the knot in May. He claims Staub’s 56th birthday party — where he was not present — on Friday night was “the tipping point.”
However, in a statement given to Page Six by the reality star’s rep, Staub claims that Caffrey refuses to speak with her.
“Danielle is very disappointed that Marty spent time composing a three-page statement for the media but won’t sit down and talk with her about the situation,” we’re told. “She is also disappointed that he seems much more concerned about press coverage than he does about his marriage.”
Over the weekend her rep confirmed to us that the newlywed couple was “having difficulties” but the New Jersey native hoped to work things out.
Caffrey, who acknowledged his own mistakes in their time together, also accused Staub of being narcissistic and entitled in his statement which read in part: “It wasn’t always that way but when she became relevant again, with my help, she changed. There’s never any time for just ‘us.’ She should be thanking me, not verbally and emotionally abusing me, not dominating me, not ignoring me.”
We’re told the couple is still legally married and living under the same roof in New Jersey.
