TV and stage star Denise Van Outen has opened up about how she wouldn't change ex-fiancé Eddie Boxshall's betrayal, as it ultimately led to her new romance with backing dancer turned property developer Jimmy Barba.
Earlier this year Denise and Eddie had a rather turbulent split after Denise discovered a series of messages on his phone to other women.
Since then, the exes have hit out at each other on social media and in interviews, however Denise has now put all of that behind her as she's embarked on a new relationship.
And she's even said that Eddie's actions may have been "worth it" as it's led to her romance with new partner Jimmy.
Speaking to The Sun, the Chicago star said: "Obviously those things weren’t nice to go through, but where I’m at now with Jimmy [Barba], who has such a good energy, everything was worth it.
"Honestly, I feel like I’m in a nice, happy, good place. I wouldn’t change anything."
She also discussed how she became closer to a number of her friends following her heartbreak, adding that when you're in a relationship, especially one of blended families, you can get quite caught up and perhaps not make enough time from your friends.
Denise said: "I reconnected with a lot of close friends. They reached out to me, which is lovely… Everything that happened took all my friendships to another level."
She names TV presenter Ferne Cotton as one of those who was a great help to her at this horrible time, describing her as a "good soul."
Denise also took the time to reconnect with friends from theatre school, including the band All Saints, and it was through them that she was introduced to her new beau.
Eddie previously said he's "deeply sorry" for "breaking her trust". He denied physically cheating, but said: "I deeply regret that I sent those messages."
Denise took her relationship with Jimmy public in June as the pair walked the red carpet at the Grand Prix ball last month.
Discussing the relationship a source told OK!: "Denise is head over heels for Jimmy – he feels like a breath of fresh air and is a real man after all of Eddie's drama.
"He makes her laugh; they're having so much fun together after meeting online. It's not been long but she's smitten which is why she went on red carpet official with him."
Continuing, they added: "He cracks her up and they are very happy together. It's obviously very early days but it's very clear that Jimmy is keen on Denise."
