Ajay Devgn and Tabu starrer De De Pyaar De seem to be the first choice the cinegoers over new Bollywood releases, PM Narendra Modi and India’s Most Wanted as it earned better than them at the ticket windows. Though Hollywood biggie Aladdin overpowered the urban romantic-comedy yesterday. De De Pyaar De raked in Rs 3.58 crore yesterday and now stands with the grand total of Rs 64.63 crore. The film will show substantial growth over the weekend and we are expecting it cross the Rs 75 crore at the box office.
When asked if Rakul Preet had apprehensions before signing the film as it stars powerhouse talents like Ajay Devgn and Tabu, she replied, “I was not apprehensive. Not at all. There is nothing great about working with actors who under perform. I always believe in working with the best as it motivates you. They are wonderful co-stars. I had a wonderful experience working with them.” Produced by Luv Ranjan and directed by Akiv Ali, De De Pyaar De explores the relationship between an older man and a younger woman. The film also stars Rakul Preet, Alok Nath, Jaaved Jaaferi and Jimmy Sheirgill in key roles
The film has received positive reviews from the cinegoers. Our critic, Urmimala Banerjee gave the film 3 stars and wrote, “A quirky plot, some killer dialogues and Ajay and Tabu’s chemistry make it a decent one time watch. If you can ignore the problematic areas, the film is one time Paisa vasool.” She also praised the writing of the film and wrote, “The biggest highlight of the film are the one liners. Some of them are absolute killers! Yes, some might find them sexist but you cannot ignore that the writing is quite clever. Full credit to Luv Ranjan, Surabhi Bhatnagar and Tarun Jain.”
