Their wedding venue? Barbara‘s parents’ property, Harlekin Birtok, which also doubles as an event venue.
While they had a smaller wedding in Hungary, they also plan to have a bigger wedding in California later this year.
“[This past weekend] was supposed to be an intimate event,” Barbara told Vogue. “But we ended up having 115 guests, because there are a lot of people we care about and we wanted them all to be there.”
The bride and her sister actually planned most of the big event themselves!
“We didn’t have a planner so Barbara and her sister planned most of it,” Dylan said. “They told me my only job is to show up and say the right name.”
The model wore three different dresses for the festivities, wearing a Vivienne Westwood gown with Tiffany & Co jewelry to walk down the aisle, then switching into a Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini dress for the reception. In Hungary, they have a tradition of wearing a red dress after midnight, so Barbara changed again into a shorter red dress by Hungarian designer MERO.
“There is also a Hungarian tradition where you have to wear a red dress after midnight—it’s called ‘menyecske ruha,’” she shared with Vogue. “There was no question—I had to wear a Hungarian designer for this one, so I chose MERO. They created the dress of my dreams, it was sexy and sweet but also comfortable—exactly what I wanted.”
For the bridesmaids, they all wore cool pastels, as Barbara didn’t want to have one specific color chosen, but more of a palette so her bridesmaids could express themselves while staying in theme.
As for what Dylan wore, a classic black tux of course. “I just wanted a very traditional tuxedo,” he noted. “And I made sure to shave.”
They even exchanged their vows in the same church where her parents got married 34 years ago – how special!!
“All the people we love and care for were there,” Barbara expressed. “We all cried a little.”
“The weather was perfect with a little cool breeze,” she added. “It was a beautiful moment that we will never forget.”
