Natalie Cassidy has shared her pride as her daughter, Eliza, has been revealed as a contestant on this year's Junior Bake Off.

The series sees hosts Harry Hill, Liam Charles and Ravneet Gill front the show as talented bakers aged nine to 15 compete to br crowned as the Junior Bake Off winner – in similar style to the famous Great British Bake Off.

The EastEnders actress, 38, only revealed Eliza’s connection to her after she lost her place in the tent, revealing on Instagram that she was the “proudest mum alive” of her achievement.

Posting a photo of her daughter looking thrilled with a certificate and a cooking pan, Natalie wrote: “This is Eliza. She was 10 and decided to enter for the junior bake off. I said, oh Eliza, you’ll never get through, thousands apply and I don’t want you to be disappointed."

Natalie added: “She got through. And her confidence, determination and maturity has blown me away. I am proud of my daughters everyday. But to watch one of them be so kind and helpful to others in the tent every night this week, has made me the proudest mum alive.

“I haven’t said much about it- Nothing to do with me whatsoever. This was her adventure.

"Thank you @britishbakeoff for having her and looking after her so well throughout the process. My advice to all. When your child wants to do something don’t stop them. Dreams do come true.”

Many of Natalie’s EastEnders cast mates chimed in to congratulate Eliza on her place on Junior Bake off.

Millie Zero, who plays Dotty Cotton on the show, wrote: “Super proud of our queen baker”.

And Stacey Slater actress Lacey Turner added: “She’s an absolute legend. I love her”.

Meanwhile, fans were surprised at Eliza’s famous connection, with one commenting: “Aww I didn’t realise Eliza was your daughter! I said yesterday to my daughter (who is also a budding baker, in fact she’s practicing now baking a cake at 8pm on a Friday evening!!) how kind Eliza was to others and how proud I’d be if she was mine!”

Someone else remarked: “Omg I didn't realise this was your daughter @natcass1 …..what a proud mum u must be. She is such a lovely girl and so helpful and friendly and quite honestly had me in stitches all week.”

Natalie shares her daughter Eliza with ex Adam Cottrell and she also has a daughter called Joanie, who's five, with her fiancé Marc Humphreys, who she met when he was working as an EastEnders cameraman.
