Emmerdale actress Isabel Hodgins has shared a rare snap of her “best” boyfriend while celebrating Valentine’s Day.

Isabel has portrayed Victoria Sugen on the soap since 2006, having taken over the role from Hannah Midgley, who starred in the role in 1997, and Jessica Heywood, who portrayed the character from 1994.

After going public with the relationship back in December, Isabel took to Instagram on Tuesday to celebrate Valentine’s Day alongside her boyfriend, Manchester local Adam Whitehead.

Isabel, 29, shared a picture of herself and Adam looking particularly squinty as the sun flashed acrosses their faces.

She captioned the post: “The best Valentine. The worst picture takers.”

Besides making the relationship Instagram official in December, Isabel is yet to fully showcase her new beaux on social media.

Isabel famously dated her co-star and on-screen brother-in-law Michael Parr from 2013, with the couple separating in 2019 when Michael moved to the US to further his acting career.

Michael, who also played Billy Parker on Hollyoaks, joined Emmerdale back in 2013 as the hunky Ross Barton, who had storylines ranging from scandalous affairs to a horrific acid attack.

A source said at the time: "They drifted apart and felt it was better to be mates.

"He has been throwing himself into his social life and has just been on a lads' hol and she is focusing on work, they're both young and want to follow their dreams.

"They had a meaningful relationship and they'll remember the good times."

In December, Isabel was supported by friends, family and co-stars after her beloved pet dog passed away, with the soap star sharing a picture on social media alongside an emotional caption.

She penned: "11 years and 11 months of unconditional love. He was my everything and my heart is broken but I’m so grateful he was mine.

"To everyone that played a part in his life, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. He was so loved and I know so many people contributed to giving him the best life" with a heart emoji.

Supporting her Emmerdale alumn, Charley Webb, who played Debbie Dingle, wrote: "The best doggy Mama there ever was."

Lisa Riley, who plays Mandy Dingle, said: "Wow my heart breaks for you love and hugs xx."

"Oh Iz I have no words. The little apple to your pie. He will be greatly missed love you both x," said Laura Norton, who plays Kerry Wyatt, as Tracy Metcalfe actress Amy Walsh added, "Aw Izzy. I’m so sorry to hear that xx."
