This weekend Fighting With My Family was released in cinemas and quickly became the number one film at the UK box office.
The movie chronicles the incredible journey of a young girl from Norwich, Norfolk, who rose to fame as a WWE champion.
It’s based on a true story, with actress Florence Pugh portraying Saraya-Jade Bevis, also known as Paige.
Both women have been enjoying the success of the film so far, but were left baffled and "appalled" by one comment made by a critic.
In a review of Fighting With My Family by Charlotte O’Sullivan on the Evening Standard website, the writer mentions that Pugh has "chunky thighs", noting that Paige ‘s legs are actually "significantly slimmer" in real life.
O’Sullivan goes on to say she thinks this is "cool" as many actresses merely offer "an idealised version of real women" so Pugh is "changing the ideal".
But this explanation did little to please Pugh, 23, who criticised the article on social media.
In a post on Twitter she wrote: "Oh dear. Singling out my ‘chunky’ thighs doesn’t help normalising an ‘all shape&size’ Hollywood.
"In fact that’s part of the problem. I do hope people take more away from the film than the circumference of my hams."
Paige shared her tweet, saying she was "actually appalled by this".
And she wasn’t the only celeb to weigh in on the situation.
The Good Place star Jameela Jamil, who champions body positivity, also responded to Pugh’s post, writing: "Good point. Well made. You’re brilliant and I love you and your mind and your talent and your thighs."
Many other messages of support for the actress flooded in from fans, calling her "gorgeous" and telling her they "love her" the way she is.
Fighting With My Family was directed by Stephen Merchant and also stars big names such as Lena Headey Nick Frost, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Vince Vaughn.
Paige, 26, admitted the film made her cry the first time she saw it.
She said: “The first initial time I watched it I couldn’t (see it), because I was crying so much."
Evening Standard have been contacted for comment about the review.
