We are not lying if we say we were on the edge of our seats and biting our nails in anticipation of the teaser of Karan Johar’s magnum opus, Kalank. The dream project of the Dharma head was handed over to him by his late father, Yash Johar and it seems like he has taken it in his stride to make it even grander and the teaser itself has BLOCKBUSTER written over it. Directed by Abhishek Varman, Kalank boasts of an ensemble cast of Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur, Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt. Earlier today, we told you how the 2-minute teaser of the film reminded us of larger-than-life films like Baahubali 2, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Dedh Ishqiya among many other Bollywood films. And here’s how the posters had us getting a major deja vu…

Why Reloaded?

Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham is Karan Johar’s second film as a director. It was produced by his father, late Yash Johar and Kalank was the last film discussed between the father-son duo. Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham heavily relays the sentiments that ‘it’s all about loving your parents’ and Karan has been leaving no stone unturned with Kalank. Karan is very emotionally attached to this project and considers it his baby. While announcing the film on his social media, Karan shared a heartfelt post, saying, “A film that was born in my heart and mind 15 years ago….a film I passionately believe in…the last film my father worked on before he left us….it was his dream to see this film come through…I couldn’t fulfill his dream then….my spirit was broken….but today his wish has found a relationship with celluloid….the story of turbulent relationships and eternal love has found a voice….the film has been woven, nurtured and visualized by ABHISHEK VARMAN….and the film Is KALANK! Set in the ’40s but it’s heart lives on…..TOMORROW the journey begins…..am excited …anxious and emotional about this one…I do hope you join us on our path to undying love…..#KALANK”

And now you can see how the posters too are, in a way, similar to the director’s first family drama…

Don’t you think the Dharma head’s taste while making an EPIC family-drama is quite similar?
