Love Island is hit by a SECOND dumping as shellshocked couples are forced into a savage date twist ahead of the grand finale

The Love Island villa have been hit with a second shocking dumping plot twist during Wednesday night’s show just days before the final.

Abi and Scott were voted by the public into the bottom three along with Molly and Zach, and Mitch and Ella B, and their fate was eventually decided by their fellow islanders.

Abi and Scott, who had decided to just be friends earlier in the episode, were dumped from the Majorca villa.

Fans rushed to Twitter to call Scott the ‘true winner’ after he was dumped from the villa alongside Abi.

The semi-professional footballer, 22, had won the hearts of viewers during his stint on the show, which saw him call Mitchel Taylor a ‘k**bhead’ in an explosive row a day prior.

Abi said as she departed: ‘I haven’t made a romantic connection but I have made lots of friends. Love you guys.

‘My Love Island experience has been a whirlwind. I wasn’t meant to find love in the villa.’

Scott said: ‘What an experience. I’ve loved every second of it.’

Viewers called it ‘an end of era’ as Scott said his final goodbyes.

One wrote on Twitter: ‘I really wanted to see Scott in the finals, this is so sad man,’ another added: ‘You are my winner’.

Another said: ‘If Catherine and Scott were together I guarantee they would’ve made the final.’

‘Scott we could never forget you, you’re too fine’, typed a different fan.

Reflecting on his time on the show, Scott said: ‘I knew it was my time and I’ve had a great run. I’ve met so many great people and I’ve learned so much about myself.’

However, following the shock departure another text was sent to the islanders about their final dates, which will take place over the next few days in the run-up to the final.

The countdown to the final is on and host Maya Jama is set to enter the villa one last time to crown the summer 2023 winning couple.

Some fans maybe disappointed as the iconic baby challenge will not be returning in the final week.

The challenge, which has taken place for the past nine years and saw couples take care of crying babies for an attire day, has been cancelled.

An insider told The Sun: ‘It’s not happening this year – but the show has seen loads of new tasks and challenges that fans have loved.’
