The 66th National Awards were announced by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting a week ago and many South Indian films bagged awards in various categories. But one film and had maximum awards was Mahanati, the biopic on yesteryear legendary actress Savitri which featured Keerthy Suresh in the titular role. Mahanati received Best Feature Film in Telugu, Best Costume Design and Best Actress in the categories announced. Keerthy received congratulatory messages from all around for the National Award and the actress is jubilated about it. Speaking about receiving the prestigious award, Keerthy says she feels more responsible in terms of choosing films now. “I definitely feel more responsible when it comes to choosing projects now. I just hope my choices are right and they will help me travel in the right direction,” Keerthy Suresh was quoted as saying by Times of India.
Keerthy is currently shooting for an untitled film in Telugu which is being directed by debutante Narendra. Produced by Mahesh Koneru, the film will have Keerthy in central and substantial character. It was also announced recently that Keerthy will be playing the lead role in Karthik Subbaraj’s production which is yet to go on floors. The Thaana Serndha Koottam actress says that she will begin shooting from October for that film.
Keerthy will also make her debut in Bollywood soon and will be seen alongside Ajay Devgn in his next. The film is yet to be titled and is based on the life of Syed Abdul Rahim who was one of the most prolific football players on 1940s. While Ajay Devgn would be seen on the titular role, Keerthy would be seen playing his love interest.
