Married at First Sight alumni Natasha Spencer has recently opened up about going sober. It comes as she celebrates it being two years since she last had an alcoholic drink.

The reality star, who first burst into the spotlight back in 2018 during series seven of the show, recently took to Instagram to give her fans an insight into her sobriety journey.

Speaking to her 71.7K followers, she wrote: "2 years ago today I had my last alcoholic drink. But it was never about the one drink for me. It was wasting days partying, missing commitments and putting myself in dangerous situations."

“I want to write this in hopes it will let the right person know, you’re never in too deep and you’re never too far gone to start making a change. It took me 6 months of trying before I managed to be completely sober,” she added.

The photo she accompanied the caption with showed Natasha looking healthy and positively glowing. Wearing a beige one shouldered bikini and a huge smile, it clearly demonstrated how happy she is with her current lifestyle.

The star then went on to recall how she replaced her “real friends with party friends, and dated the absolute worst people” because that was what she thought she deserved.

“Sobriety is an act of self love and I never thought I would be here, but I thank the universe that I am,” she penned.

Natasha, who secretly wed her fiancé, entrepreneur Gary Green last spring, then went on to express her gratitude for the life she has now.

“I have a healthy marriage, my emotions are stable, the people around me are so beautiful and I have a healthy connection with myself for the first time in my life,” she gushed.

Natasha added that she doesn’t need alcohol or drugs to “disassociate,” but instead loves “being present in every moment of this life” she has “created” with her husband.

The MAFS star finished her moving speech speaking directly to Gary, revealing how “no words will ever be enough” to tell him how grateful she is for being by her side.

“Thank you for always coming to my rescue, thank you for seeing me, knowing I deserved better and helping me to know the same,” she continued.

Natasha isn’t the only former Married at First Sight cast member to recently share their personal struggles, though. Selina Chhaur, who appeared on season nine of the show, opened up about her mental health, and how it’s declined since being on the series.

Following her stint on the programme, Selina moved to Sydney to try and make it as an influencer, but has detailed how at one point, she feared she was going to be homeless.

In a candid chat with her 220K followers, she said: “Only a few weeks ago, I literally was fearing that I was going to be homeless in Sydney. I’m so lucky and grateful that I got approved for this apartment.”

“I still live this narrative at the moment where brands still don’t want to work with me because I don’t fit this cookie cutter blonde haired blue-eyed influencer look,” she continued.

“That’s my reality of the moment, it’s not fun and rainbows all the time. It sucks, life does suck sometimes and that’s okay.”
