Nick Cannon fails to rule out the possibility of future children

Nick Cannon, 42, stirred some controversy during his recent appearance on The Howard Stern Show as he spoke about his 12 children, which he shares with six different women, and revealed he wants to have baby number 13 with Taylor Swift.

The actor hinted that he would not be having any more children but noted that he would only have another child if the woman was “amazing”.

When Howard mentioned 33-year-old Taylor Swift as a potential mother to baby 13, Nick’s ambivalence towards the subject immediately changed as he exclaimed: “Absolutely! I’m in, let’s go! That’s the one! I think that would be amazing!”

He continued: “First of all she’s an amazing songwriter. What I do love about Taylor Swift is that she has been so open and vulnerable with all of her music.

“She’s kind of like me so I think she would relate to me very well. We would probably really understand each other.”

Shocked fans took to social media, branding the actor “misogynistic” over his comments, with countless asking him to “leave Taylor alone” in the comments section on YouTube, especially as it had only just been revealed that Taylor and her boyfriend of six years, Joe Alwyn, had broken up.

ProseNylund wrote on Twitter: “Nick Cannon joking about impregnating Taylor Swift is f**king disgusting and no one should be entertaining this for content.”

Moorehn added: “Taylor Swift has been single for one day (publicly) and already sh***y men are seeing her as an available womb. That’s what we’re talking about when we’re talking about reflexive straight cis male misogyny.”

Tgain83 wrote: “It’s troubling that both Nick Cannon and Kanye West have publicly implied sex with Taylor Swift and her consent is not part of the conversation and no one has called them on it.”

Elsewhere in the interview with Howard Stern, Nick reacted to the rumours that he has so many children as he’s looking for an organ donor due to health issues, a claim which he branded as “science fiction”.

He added: “My body’s functioning fine without help from my offspring. I’m having kids because I love my kids.”

Nick shares his eldest children, 11-year-old fraternal twins Monroe and Moroccan, with ex-wife Mariah Carey while his youngest child, Halo Marie, is just three months old with singer Alyssa Scott.

In December 2021 Nick and Alyssa received an outpouring of support from their fans as they revealed their five-month-old son, Zen, had tragically died from a brain tumour.
