Watch live: Paul O'Grady's funeral procession in Adlington, Kent
Paul O’Grady’s tragic death following a sudden cardiac arrhythmia shocked the world – and today the eyes of fans were filled with tears as they said goodbye to the TV legend.
The For The Love of Dogs host’s coffin was carried on a horse-drawn carriage, while his followers turned up en masse to pay tribute to him.
Local children from the nearby primary school had created heart-shaped tributes almost as tall as they were, crafted out of felt and studded with illustrations of Paul’s favourite animal – the dog.
The star was known for rehoming several of the canines he came across while filming his hit TV show and nowadays his name is synonymous with animal welfare.
The connection has been strengthened even further by the guard of honour ceremony featuring pets from the Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.
