Anton Du Beke and Giovanni Pernice were due to kick off their Him and Me! Tour at the end of this month, however they are now facing a setback. The dancing duo, who are best known for starring on Strictly Come Dancing, have got to rearrange most of their performances after Boris Johnson extended lockdown by another four weeks.

Restrictions were due to life on June 21, but they have now been pushed back to July 19.

The Strictly stars had a number of tour dates booked in for that period which have now been affected.

They are in talks with many of the venues to see if some performances can still go ahead with a socially-distanced audience, but it is likely that others will have to be rescheduled.

Only five shows out of their 18-date tour were scheduled to take place after the new date.

An announcement on Instagram, shared the disappointing news with fans.

“Anton and Giovanni – Him and Me! Tour Update,” the Strictly Theatre Co post began.

“In line with the Government announcing the delay in the next stage of the roadmap, we will have to make some changes to our tour schedule.

“We are currently speaking to individual venues for shows taking place before the 19th July to see what performances can go ahead with a socially distanced audience.

“We will let you know as soon as we have more information,” the statement continued.

“Thank you for your continued support and patience.

“We may have to reschedule some dates, but some WILL STILL BE HAPPENING IN 2021!!!

“The show must go on…,” it read.

Many who took to the comments section of the post were understanding.

“We fully appreciate the difficult task ahead and have everything crossed that our performances can go ahead. If they need to be rescheduled, then so be it. It’s not your fault and we all understand. Good luck,” one social media user wrote.

“I’m so so very sad for all of you, I know how much thought, creativity and hard graft has gone into this show already. I hope that the theatres are as flexible as possible so that you are able to share with us in public everything that you’ve achieved so far in private. #theshowmustgoon #backonstage,” another added.

A third remarked: “So much appreciation for all your valiant work to keep the lights shining bright in our theatres. The first night with a full house will be a special moment.”

Anton, 54, and Giovanni, 30, have been in rehearsals for the show for the past week.

The former shared a behind-the-scenes video of the pair singing on the picture-sharing site.

They performed the track Nice and Easy for Anton’s 239,000 followers.

Fans were delighted to see the duo in action and said they couldn’t wait to see the show.
