Three members of a family were killed on the spot, when the motorcycle they were riding rammed a stationary lorry at Jangamvaripalle village of Kurabalakota mandal, 40 km from Madanapalle, in the early hours of Tuesday.
According to the Madanapalle Rural police, Chandrasekhar (40), his son Devendra (13) and cousin Dinesh (16) of Bodireddipalle were on their way to Kurabalakota to drop Dinesh, an Intermediate student, at the local bus-stand. Chandrasekhar is a municipal employee at Nagari, and his son Devendra is an eighth standard student.
The police said all the three died of head injuries and did not wear helmet. The Mudivedu police registered a case and shifted the bodies to area hospital for autopsy.
One killed, two injured
In another accident, Jairaj (27) was killed on the spot, and two others were seriously injured when their motorcycles collided at the Sri City SEZ area near Satyavedu on Tuesday. The deceased, belonging to Chilamattur village of Varadaiahpalem mandal, was on his way to Tada when the accident occurred. Two of the injured on the other bike were shifted to the Government Hospital at Satyavedu. A case was registered.
