Andhra University Vice-Chancellor G. Nageswara Rao on Monday said that special attention would be given to the development of ‘walk ways’ in both the north campus and the south campus at an estimated cost of Rs. 70 lakh. Proposals are being prepared for construction of houses for university employees in 2.5 acres in Pithapuram Colony, he said.

Launching a week-long short-term course on ‘research methodology’ initiated by the UGC Human Resource Development Centre of AU here on Monday, the V-C said asked the professors to focus on research projects citing that funding agencies are ready to extend support to the varsity in this regard.

The varsity accords a top priority to quality research and working towards getting the top 10 in the NIRF rankings, he said. HRD Centre Director P. Viswanadham was also present.

Book released

Meanwhile, Mr. Nageswara Rao released a book ‘Sathamanam Bhavathi’ written by P.K. Jayalakshmi, Hindi Department HoD of St. Joseph’s College for Women on Monday. He advised teachers to explore the opportunity to impart knowledge in diverse subjects upon students. HoD of Classic East, Sofia University, Bulgaria Milena Bratoeva, among others took part.
