Addressing a rally organised by the district unit of Congress here on Wednesday, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) working president Eshwar Khandre alleged that the BJP leaders are trying to divert attention from major issues by issuing false statements that the coalition government in the State would collapse shortly. Since the coalition government is stable and would complete its full term, the BJP leaders should concentrate on protecting the interests of the common man who is “fed up with the wrong policies of the Union government”.

Since the Jarkhiholi brothers are disciplined members of the Congress, they would not leave the party under any circumstances. They are capable of bringing MLAs from the BJP to the Congress..

“No doubt, there is some confusion and misunderstanding among the leaders of Congress and JD(S), but it would be sorted out and development works would be implemented in the State,” he added.

Earlier, a rally was taken out from Sri Nilkanteshwar temple which passed through main streets of the city, including Mahaveer Circle, Madakari Circle, Ambedkar Circle and Onake Obavva Circle. The protesters raised slogans against the Union government and the BJP leaders. MP B.N. Chandrappa, former Minister H. Anjaneya, MLA Raghumurthy and party workers and supporters were present.
