The police booked a case against the owner of Kavikko Convention Centre, located in CIT Colony for running it without public resort licence.
The public resort licence is mandatory as per the Madras City Police Act for conducting any public function or entertainment in a closed hall or auditorium or any place on a hotel premises. The Commissioner of Police is the issuing authority for the licence. The Mylapore police booked the case against Musthafa, 71, of Poes Garden, owner of the centre.
