Tourism Secretary Mukesh Kumar Meena has directed the Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) officials to ensure that the facilities at Kurusura Submarine Museum was improved in strict compliance with the proposed integrated museum design.
VUDA Vice-Chairman P. Basant Kumar gave a Power Point presentation to the Secretary on the integrated museum during the latter’s visit to the VUDA Office here on Wednesday.
Mr. Meena asked the VUDA Vice Chairman to ensure that no inconvenience was caused to motorists for the parking of vehicles as also to prevent hindrance to pedestrians apart from giving sufficient facilities to visitors coming to the Kurusura Submarine museum.
He said that the submarine museum should be the focal point of the development works and added that Visakhpatnam has the maximum tourist potential in the State.
VUDA Secretary Srinivas, Estate Officer Murali, Superintending Engineer Ravi and Chief Urban Planner Bhavani Shankar, architect Srinivasa Murthy and District Tourism Officer Purnima were among those who attended the programme.
A Coffee museum would be set up at Araku soon and this would be better than the one being presently run by private persons, the Tourism Department Secretary added.
