Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Wednesday inaugurated several facilities for the Home, Industries and Transport Departments during a function at the Secretariat here.

Through video conference, he inaugurated 155 police quarters at eight police stations across the State, built at a total cost of Rs. 25.18 crore, an official release stated.

He also inaugurated machinery in Unit-II of the State government-owned Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Ltd. (TNPL) in Mondipatti village in Manapparai region of Tiruchi district. The facility has been set up at a cost of Rs. 30 crore.

Industries Minister M.C. Sampath, Tourism Minister Vellamandi N. Natarajan, Transport Minister M.R. Vijayabhaskar, Backward Communities Welfare Minister S. Valarmathi, Chief Government Whip S. Rajendran were also present.

Chief Secretary Girija Vaidyanathan, Industries Secretary K. Gnanadesikan, Home Secretary Niranjan Mardi, Transport Secretary P.W.C. Davidar and Director General of Police T.K. Rajendran were also among those present during the event.
