Former IPS officer booked for extortion

The Criminal Investigation Department of the West Bengal police has filed a chargesheet against former IPS officer Bharati Ghosh and her husband M.V. Raju, along with six others, for their alleged involvement in a case of extortion and forgery. Her whereabouts are not known.

The chargesheet was filed 149 days after a local businessman filed a complaint against Ms. Ghosh.
