The 65th feast of commemoration of Mar Ivanios, the architect of the Reunion Movement, concluded at St. Mary’s Cathedral at Pattom on Saturday.

Cardinal Rainer Maria Woelki, Archbishop of Cologne, Germany, was accorded a formal reception in the presence of several devotees, prior to the special prayers. Delivering the benedictory address, Cardinal Woelki said that Mar Ivanios, the first Metropolitan Archbishop (Thiruvananthapuram) of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church, had dedicated his life selflessly for the service of others.

Cardinal Baselios Cleemis was the main celebrant during the Holy Mass. Metropolitan Archbishop of Thiruvalla, Thomas Mar Koorilos, Bishops Yuhanon Mar Chrysostom, Joshua Mar Ignatios, Joseph Mar Thomas, Abraham Mar Julios, Jacob Mar Barnabas, Vincent Mar Paulose, Thomas Mar Eusebius, Geevarghese Mar Makarios, Samuel Mar Irenios, Thomas Mar Anthonios and Yuhanon Mar Theodosius were among the concelebrants.

Music composer M. Jayachandran, who performed a song penned by Cardinal Cleemis in honour of Mar Ivanios, was felicitated on the occasion.
