The Vitla police on Thursday arrested five persons for allegedly dumping chicken waste on Negalaguli Road of Alake village on July 9. The police said Alake Gram Panchayat Development Officer Channappa Gowda on July 12 filed a complaint that a few miscreants had dumped a lorry load of chicken waste by the roadside at night.

Mohammed Rafiq (30) of Puttur, Ahmed Gajani (34) of Kozhikode, Soufi (30) of Malaparamba, Masood (25) of Kozhikode, and Mohammed Ziaul Ansari (20) of Bihar have been arrested.
