Two school girls attempted suicide by consuming poison in Kaadaiyampatti village when they were allegedly threatened by a group of youths that their obscene pictures would be circulated if they did not come along with them on their two-wheeler.

Police sources said the girls were walking to the Nadupatti government school recently when the youths intercepted them. They offered to take the girls on the two-wheeler to the school. When the girls refused to oblige, the youths threatened that they had their obscene pictures and would circulate them.

Upon returning home, the girls consumed poison. They were rushed to the Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College Hospital. On a complaint from their parents, Police registered a case and are on the lookout for the accused.
