Former Minister and BJP leader V. Somanna has said that Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy should observe restraint while responding to issues like the demand for a separate State. “He should not get emotionally charged while making statements in public”, he told journalists here on Tuesday.

“The State should not be divided into two. A few people are talking about dividing the State. But BJP State president B.S.Yeddyurappa has clarified the party’s stand on the issue. We all stand by his statement.”

Since the day the coalition government came to power, the Chief Minister had been giving statements with “no clarity of thought.” He had not yet cleared the confusion over loan waiver. Often he had spoken against the media,Mr. Somanna said.

The former Minister opined that the JD(S)-Congress alliance would not last long. In the next three months the people would know its fate.
