Water in Sri Ram Sagar Project has increased by almost 5 tmcf from 19.166 tmcf to 24.277 tmc within 18 hours with 62,520 cusecs of water was coming into the reservoir as of 6 p.m. on Friday.
The 39,200 cusecs of water coming into the project at midnight gradually went up to 80,420 cusecs by 3 p.m. and 82,650 at 4 p.m. At 6 p.m. it came down to 62,520 cusecs. Thus, the water level increased from 1064.30 ft in the midnight to 10.67.40 ft by 6 in the evening, according to the hourly bulletin released by the SRSP authorities.
Low lying areas were inundated in several towns and villages and small streams were overflowing following the continuous rains in the last 48 hours. However, there are no significant inflows into Nizam Sagar Project and Ramadugu project. The district received an average 29.6 mm rainfall while 18.20 mm rainfall was recorded in Kamareddy district. Navipet received the highest rainfall of 56.9 mm in Nizamabad district while Beerkur in Kamareddy district recorded 34 mm.
