Heavy rain is very likely to occur at isolated places in all the districts of coastal Andhra Pradesh on Sunday.
Light to moderate rain, or thundershowers, may occur at many places in coastal A.P. and at a few places in Rayalaseema during the same time, according to the IMD.
Meanwhile, the Cyclone Warning Centre here warned of strong surface winds from the westerly direction, with speed reaching 45 to 50 kmph along and off coastal A.P. during the next 24 hours commencing 6 p.m. on Saturday.
The state of the sea would be rough to very rough along and off coastal A.P., and fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea.
Very heavy rain occurred at isolated places in the districts of East Godavari and West Godavari, and heavy rain occurred at isolated places in the districts of Guntur, Krishna, Prakasam and Visakhapatnam of coastal A.P.
The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) received during the last 24 hours ending 8.30 a.m. on Saturday were:
Vararamachandrapur 13, Koida and Chintur 12 each, Sattenapalle 11, 10, Avanigada and Repalle 9 each, Velairpad, Visakhapatnam, Santhamaguluru and Macherla 8 each, Bapatla , Addanki, Koyyalagudem, Yerragondapalem and Kukunoor 7 each, Karamchedu and Piduguralla 6 each, Nandigama , Paleru Bridge, Gudivada and Palasa 5 each, Atchampet , Tenali, Guntur and Jangamaheswarapuram 4 each. Rayalaseema: Raju Palem 5 and Rajampet 4.
