Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) national general secretary P.K. Kunhalikutty described Cherkalam Abdullah as one of the strongest leaders of the party.

“He was a leader who could be approached by anyone irrespective of his religion, community, caste or political allegiance,” Mr. Kunhalikutty said in his condolence message here on Friday.

Mr. Kunhalikutty said the Kudumbasree project model had been visualised when Mr. Abdullah was Minister for Local Administration in 2001.

Mr. Kunhalikutty said he played a key role in ensuring socio-political camaraderie and communal harmony in Kasaragod.
