Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (Jipmer) has won the ‘International Award’ in the fourth Contemporary Academic Meet (CAM) – 2018 held recently in Chennai.

According to Jipmer Director Dr. S. Vivekanandam, the programme was organised by the Centre for Advanced Research and Design (CARD), Chennai.

The agenda of the academic meet was to focus on the future shape of higher education, technology change and expectations of the next generation of students and faculty.

The aim of CAM is to provide a premier interdisciplinary platform for researchers and educators to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, and concerns as well as practical challenges encountered and solutions adopted in the fields of higher education.

During the Contemporary Academic Meet, Dr. Ravi Kumar Chittoria, Professor of Plastic Surgery, Registrar (Academic) and Head of IT Wing and Telemedicine in Jipmer, was also conferred with the International Distinguished Faculty Award in Health and Medical Sciences for his contribution and achievement in the field of plastic surgery.

The award includes a certificate, medal and memento.

Mr. Chittoria was also awarded ‘Guest of Honour’ as speaker for delivering a keynote speech on the title ‘Application of Telemedicine in Plastic Surgery and Health Practices’ during the Contemporary Academic Meet.
