The three-day ‘Jyestha Abhishekam’ performed at the TTD’s Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple concluded on a grand note on Tuesday.

It is an annual ritual observed on Ashada star of Jyestha month of the Hindu almanac, where the armour adorned by the processional deities is removed and re-adorned after performing purificatory rituals on them.

The gold-covered armour was removed on the first day and rituals were performed for the past two days.

After a celestial bath ‘Snapana Tirumanjanam’ conducted on Tuesday morning, the armour was adorned back during ‘Kavacha Samarpana’ ritual.

The dazzling deities of the Lord and His consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi were taken in a colourful procession in the evening on the streets encircling the temple.
