Senior IAS officer L.K. Atheeq, who was recently transferred from the Chief Minister’s office, was given a fresh posting on Friday. The government, in a major reshuffle of IAS officers, has given posts for 10 officials and transferred more than 10.
Mr. Atheeq is the new Principal Secretary of Rural Development and Panchyat Raj. The 1991-batch IAS officer served as Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister in the Siddaramaiah government for over two years. He was recently transferred from the CMO without a fresh posting, and there were reports that the “unilateral” decision of Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy had not gone down well with his predecessor.
D. Randeep, who was transferred from the post of Deputy Commissioner of Hassan during the Assembly elections, has been given the post of Additional Commissioner (Administration) in the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike.
Other waiting officers whose new postings were revealed on Friday include P.C. Jaffer (Commissioner for Public Instruction), Gunjan Krishna (MD of Karnataka State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd.), Sushma Godbole (Special Deputy Commissioner-1, Bengaluru Urban), and B.R. Mamatha (Mission Director, National Rural Livelihood Mission).
The government has also transferred several senior IAS officials, including Jawaid Akhtar, who will now be Principal Secretary of Health and Family Welfare while holding the concurrent charge of MD of Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd.
