The Saibaba Colony police on Sunday arrested S. Vanniyaraj (29), a resident of Alagamman Street near K.K. Pudur, on the charges of possessing 1.15kg of ganja. He was remanded in judicial custody.

Unidentified miscreants hurled stones at Ernakulam – Bengaluru Intercity Express on Sunday, said the police. The railway police said that the incident took place when the train was on transit between Madukkarai and Podanur stations on Sunday noon. According to police, the hurling was reported on one of the air-conditioned coaches. The police are investigating.
