The victim hosiery owner of the Monday night’s kidnapping and carjacking case registered his complaint with the police and told them that the accused warned him to stay away from a girl, whom the victim said he considers his sister.
The victim revealed to the police that the accused threatened him of dire consequences if he did not comply and told him that his Mercedes would be returned within 10 days.
The accused reportedly returned the victim’s mobile phone and gave him Rs 300 to return home, before throwing him out of the car near Khanna.
According to the FIR, a copy of which is in HT’s possession, the 23-year-old victim, Taran Chawla, told the police that when the three accused kidnapped him at gunpoint in his Mercedes, they asked him about a girl and warned him to stay away from her.
“Sanu tera mobile nhi chahida, teri gaddi vi tenu 10 dina de vich vapis kar devange (We don’t need your mobile phone and your car will also be returned to you within 10 days.)” is what the miscreants told Taran, according to the FIR.
“I told them that the girl is a friend and like a younger sister to me,” Taran said. “The accused said that Haryana is not far from Ludhiana. Today, we three have come and next time, someone else will come,” Taran told the police.
According to the statement, the accused struggled to drive the high-end car and kept asking Tarun how to change its gear. Meanwhile, victim’s father Kuljit Singh said the GPS in the car was not working due to which, it could not be traced.
Inspector Jatinder Singh of division number 5 police station said the case is under investigation and the car has not been traced yet. He also said the girl’s angle in the case could be to misguide the victim and the police.
On Monday night, three masked miscreants kidnapped a 23-year-old hosiery owner at gunpoint, along with his Mercedes, from Sarabha Nagar main market.
The accused snatched his mobile phone, took him to Khanna and thrashed him before throwing him out of the moving car and fleeing in it.
The victim later borrowed the mobile of a dhaba employee and informed his family about the incident, who alerted the police.
