The Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen on Wednesday extended financial assistance of Rs. 1 lakh to the kin of Mohammed Azam who was lynched to death near Bidar over suspicion of being a child abductor.
Malakpet legislator Ahmed bin Abdullah Balala met the victim’s father Mohammed Usman at his residence in Errakunta in the city, where he paid condolences. The MIM also extended financial assistance of Rs. 25,000 to Mohammed Salman, who was injured in the mob attack and is now being treated for injuries at the Esra Hospital in the city.
The MIM sources said that party president Asaduddin Owaisi will soon speak to Karnataka Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy to request him to give an ex gratia of Rs. 10 lakh to Mr. Azam’s family.
